Around this time of year, we start hearing about or thinking about New Year’s resolutions. While resolutions can be powerful, we can often sabotage ourselves. We let up around the holidays and plan to hit the ground running on January 1st.

Then the 1st comes around and we might think, “It’s New Year’s Day, I’ll start tomorrow.” This kicking the can down the road makes it easier to keep kicking. Something I’ve done the last few years is start early rather than wait until the 1st.

If you started right now, you’d have a good six weeks of momentum built up by the time the 1st comes around. You’ll be sprinting while others are still trying to get going.
