For someone that posts a lot on social media, I’ve gotten used to negative comments, but every now and then one or two still get to me a little. The other day, I had a couple that got me thinking about the ways we internally react to situations.
On one hand, you can let them discourage you. On the other, you can let them fuel you. While I was thinking about this, I went through some memories from decades ago where I was fueled by seemingly negative situations.
I got kicked out of a band when I was younger. Rather than getting discouraged and giving up on music, I started another band, and those ended up being some of the best years of my younger life.
I also got kicked out of a graffiti crew when I was a teenager. Instead of giving up, I had an “I’ll show them” moment in my mind. That caused me to go ten times harder, and I was back in the crew within a month or so.
There are plenty of times where this mindset worked in my favor, but this message would get a little long if I listed them all. The point is to never let these situations cause you to give up on something important to you.
It’s better to develop a little chip on your shoulder and go all in. Even if it’s just to prove them wrong.

I used to ignore these messages but once I started opening them and reading them it helps me get through new experiences in my life, that usually discourage me and weigh me down. The insight, knowledge and wisdom in these memoirs help me get through the days where I want to quit. Thank you.

Thank you for sharing that BUS, I needed to hear it and I agree with you 100% being 48 years old and still haven’t achieved a sponsorship level or the professional side of graffiti where I can generate income has not arrived yet but instead of giving up I’m going harder my motto and saying is you know what time it is… Time to GET UP & GET IT!
