Seeing this photo got me thinking about “last times.” You never really know when you’re doing something for the last time. There was a last time we walked up this little hill and over the tracks to paint at the infamous Motor Yard.
For those not familiar, Motor Yard was a graffiti spot in West LA that ran from the 80s until around 2013. It was an abandoned train track that got put back into commission later on. Crossing the tracks not knowing what to expect; what you’d see on the walls or who’d be in the yard. It had a unique feeling.
There are a lot of last times and we usually don’t know it. The last time you talked to a childhood friend, the last time you took your dog for a walk, the last time you went to your favorite place. We forget to think about this stuff when we’re in it.
On one hand, it wouldn’t be healthy to always walk around thinking everything is about to end. On the other, keeping this idea in the back of your mind might help you enjoy those times a bit more.
This photo was taken on my last time there. Grateful to have a record of it.

Man this one hits deep. In 2003, me and my best friend, mentor, and hetero life mate made the trek to our local yard. We’d done it 1000 times before. But that night…was the last night I ever saw him. He was hit by a train 10 feet away from me, and it’s something you can’t ever explain to someone unless they know. That was the worst night of my life, and somehow, I’m still painting his name 20+ years later. #AngreForever

That brings back such missed out to it as I think of some of the things in my past I’ve been for the last time you never think at the time that you’re never going to do it again after that one time thanks for the trip back in the past BUS! -BZERK KFG
