Classic Los Angeles Yards!
This is by far not a comprehensive account of LA graffiti yards from the 90s—it's just a few of them that I frequented the most. First up is the old Venice Pavilion. This was a great spot right on the Venice Boardwalk. The eventually tore down and buried most of it leaving a couple walls as a memorial that you can still paint to this day.
Next is the Motor Yard. Located on a train track that was no longer in use at the time. Countless battles, productions and paint sessions happened here in the 80s and 90s. Eventually, the tracks were put back into use and the yard was completely buffed. As far as I know, it is no longer being painted, but I could be wrong.
Last is the Bunkers. I didn't paint this place until 2015, but it's still one of my favorite yards I've ever painted. This is an abandoned army bunker that was eventually covered with graffiti. I don't have a whole lot of history on this place, but I believe it's still somewhat active today.
Hope you enjoyed this little trip down memory lane. Did you ever paint any of these spots?
