Same outline-first, fill-second order as before, this time with brown and gold. The point here is the messy fill; the outline goes down thick and loose because the fill comes in over it afterward and does the cleanup work.
Thick, Loose Outline
Start with the outline, kept thick. Don't work for precision. Because the fill comes in on top of it, the outline just needs to hold its shape; the looseness is intentional.
The Drop Shadow
A drop shadow goes in next. This one was partly a paint decision; the brown was running low, so the shadow was the right place to spend what was left.
Filling With Gold
The fill goes in over the outline in gold, kept messy rather than solid. This is the same logic as the outline: the sloppiness is the look, not a compromise.
The Beige Border
A slight beige border finishes it, along with border drips.
How It Turned Out
I thought the colors were going to come out too muted. They didn't. I really like how the brown, gold, and beige work together, and the gold fill all messy like that is the part I like most.

Want to do this messy outline first, fill second, with brown and gold. So I'm going to do the outline first, kind of thick. And like before, just really loose, because I'm going to come in after with the fill.
Just do a drop shadow, because I'm kind of running out of this brown.
So now we'll come in and start filling.
Now the slight beige border. Border drips.
I thought it was going to be too muted, but I actually really like the colors, and that gold fill all messy like that. I really like that.
