This may sound sad at first, but stay with me—it’s actually a positive message. There’s going to be a last time you do everything. A last time you see a loved one, a last time you throw a ball, a last time you eat at your favorite restaurant, a last time you pet your dog.
It can be heavy to think about, but knowing this helps you appreciate the time you have. The first time this idea hit me, it stuck. Almost every time I hug my dog, I make sure I’m present and appreciate it.
There’s going to be a last time, so get the most out of it.

So true. I’ve been through a lot of shit—and truth is, I’m still in it. But this post reminded me of a quote I saw spray painted on the side of a grain car a few years back. Been stuck in my head ever since:
“If you weather that storm, the rain brings sun… Been a long time coming, I know change gonna come!”
No idea who wrote it, but whoever they were, they knew something real.
