I bought a book at a used bookstore called You’ll See It When You Believe It. I haven’t read it yet, but the title alone struck a chord with me. I knew it was about belief coming first. Then I started thinking about the reticular activating system.
This is the part of the brain that helps you focus on the things you want. In the 90s, I was looking to replace my car and a buddy of mine pointed one out on the freeway and said, “You should get one of those.” When I looked over, I saw a car I had never noticed before.
It was a 1996 Chevy Impala. It was a popular car at the time, but I just never noticed it. I thought it was badass looking and instantly wanted one. From that day on, I couldn’t go anywhere without seeing them on the road.
It works the same way with other things you want in life. As soon as you start to believe you can get something, that part of your brain works hard to reveal the path. It shows you things you may not have noticed before.
What’s the point of all this? For me, it’s about crushing the negative talk and forcing yourself to believe you can get where you want to go. As soon as you start to believe it, you’ll start to see it.

PS: I ended up buying that ’96 Impala back then and still drive it to this day.

The impala story is similar to mine, I own a 1994, I was 14 when I first laid eyes on it. I was walking to school with my best friend & we were like “ wtf is that “ I looked closer & saw the SS impala emblem on the rear quarter panel. 2011 an impala found me as I was test driving a car, I saw it had no plates at this USA gas station in Valleystream, Longisland. I was looking to buy a car & bought it…still drive it today.
