It feels so corny to say ‘happiness is in the journey, not the destination’ or some other variation of that, but it’s true. It’s a constant struggle to remember that the building the thing is where it’s at, not having the thing.

Think about when you wanted to buy something. Maybe a car, or something smaller, but it took time to make it happen. The build-up of getting it, the excitement, the anticipation. Then you got it. It’s awesome at first, then it just becomes normal.

I see life like this, except a lot of us can find ourselves putting off being happy until we achieve some milestone. But the building is the fun. Remember that we’re in the good old days right now. We’ll look back on today and wish we could do it again someday.
